Flippy

So, I had the 'weekly' ultrasound Fridee, just to see how the little one is growing! Look how big it is getting! The first two pics are from last weeks sono. This first one he has his hands behind his head, just chillaxin (you can see a tiny profile and two little elbows....), the second one is a pretty good profile. Sorry, I still can't scan so these are pictures of pictures and they kind of suck.

These are Fridays, with his hands behind his head, again, just relaxin (head at top, then body, one little arm up behind head you can see pretty good). Really, it is ironic because she was trying to look and see if she could see the sex and the baby was just flipping circles and circles and kick this, flap that, and then he just stopped and put his hands behind his head. Hehe, showing off because daddy was there! She couldn't see anything re: the gender yet, stay tuned next week. Maybe I won't have my Dr Pepper next ultrasound day and he will be a little calmer...
This is a stright on of the face. You can see the 2 front chambers of the brain and one eye really good. Kinda skeleton-alien-ish.
We are at the size of a lemon this week! Woohoo!

Guilty Pleasures

So, I must say, nothing pleases me more than driving in the fast lane, some idiot behind you riding your ass, he goes to pass you, gives you a dirty look, slams on his breaks because he can't pass you, then has to get back behind you and he is all pissed off. I can't even explain my satisfaction when this happens. Freaking funny.
Pair it with some Del Taco Chilli Cheese Fries and I am one happy camper.

Anniversary Memories

First of all, before I was pregnant, I thought I'd been hungry before, especially as a biggie. You'd think a 'large' person would get hungry, right? Well, no. I have never ever felt hunger until now. I can't even believe it. Thought I felt like crap before? Thought I was tired before? Nope. I don't know what I was bitching about, this is outrageous!

So our 2 year anniversary was this past Sunday, August 2nd. Benj planned a getaway to Park City. He got us an awesome hotel, took me shopping and to dinner. He is soooo good to me! And patient!! We grabbed some McDonalds on the way up, and evidently Jr. isn't fond of the nuggets. Halfway through Parley's we had to pull over for me to throw up. Of course I was heaving so hard I also peed myself. Romantic was to start out the weekend, eh? The room we booked was supposed to have a tub and Benj really takes his baths seriously, so when we found they had upgraded us to the cool shower (see below), we called and got changed to a room with a tub. The downgrade wasn't too cool, so here are pics from the trip:

I am really glad we got away, it will be one of the last times we will be able to! It was super fun, I am soo grateful for my amazing hubby!!
FYI - hit the 12 week mark on the 1st. Ultrasound from last week shows the little guy sprouted legs and arms! He grew a ton in just one week! We got a little profile pic and he (or she) looks just like daddy!

Deep Thoughts

“I hope some animal never bores a hole in my head and lays its eggs in my brain, because later you might think you're having a good idea but it's just eggs hatching.”

“If you saw two guys named Hambone and Flippy, which one would you think liked dolphins most? I'd say Flippy, wouldn't you? You'd be wrong though. It's Hambone.”

“The next time I have meat and mashed potatoes, I think I'll put a very large blob of potatoes on my plate with just a little piece of meat. And if someone asks me why I didn't get more meat, I'll just say, "Oh, you mean this?" and pull out a big piece of meat from inside the blob of potatoes, where I've hidden it. Good magic trick, huh?”

“If trees could scream, would we be so cavalier about cutting them down? We might, if they screamed all the time, for no good reason.”

There is nothing like Jack Handy to cheer me up!!

Ahhh

2 of my new favorite things:

#1 Dominos online ordering. Where the hell did I miss this? Amazing! Pick a coupon, get a blank pizza and virtually add your toppings, watch the 'task' bar as "Jimmy" picks up my order, prepares, bakes, boxes, etc. Seriously, I am impressed. Dominos isn't even my favorite really, but I like the ordering so much, I will continue my business there.

#2, and certainly the better of the two, MATERNITY freaking pants! Don't! I know, I know, I am not quite far along enough to be 'showing', but when you have the body of a 6 months pregnant woman before you even get pregnant....... My hell. I have never had so much fun shopping. EVERY single pair of pants I tried on either fit perfectly or was too BIG. I couldn't believe it. I still can't. I usually end up sweaty and crying to Benj on the phone after about 10 minutes of shopping for pants. I can't even explain how utterly comfortable these things are. I wish I'd have found maternity pants long ago. I'll never go back to normal pants again, even after pregnancy. I seriously don't even have words to express my love.

Gummy Bear

Here he is at 10.3 weeks old! He looks like a gummy bear! (look sideways) Head, body, stubby nubs! Also, notice the large black area above the baby, this is my FULL freaking bladder! Sucks! A lot of people have been asking how I am feeling. I guess pretty normal for being pregnant. Constant nausea and fatigue sums it up well. Hopefully those will start weaning down a little soon! I am liking spicy food (always have, just tasting extra good now,) so Benj calls him the "Mexican Jumping Bean" and thinks he will come out talking spanish. Which is funny to say, but when it really comes right down to it, it is really not one bit funny. Anyway, we are both excited and pray that things continue to go well!

Preggers!

Yep, I'm prego! We are having a baby in Feb 2010! Pretty sure it's a boy (chinese chart). I've had 30 ultrasounds but I don't have a scanner and can't get a pic on here. He's about the size of a pinto bean this week! Yay!

NEW

So I thought I'd try a new template....kind of different and alot 'un-edit-able'. Anyway, I also thought since I do spend a lot of time complaining about things, I decided to do a list of things that make me happy, in addition to my list of things that piss me off. I will update them periodically.
Also, is anyone even reading this? No one ever comments (thanks Chelsey!) so I don't know whether no one is looking, people don't know how to react, or what. Anyway, feel free to 'drop a line'.
If anyone is looking, I did get my swimsuit and it works quite well.

PLUS SIZE CRAP, CONTINUED

I imagined this would happen, but I was trying to be optimistic. This washed out colored parachute elastic waistband rubbish pretty much sums up my last 2 hours.
I am so pissed off right now.

"PLUS SIZE" BULLCRAP

So I am on the hunt for a swimsuit. Last year it took me a good 2 months and I ended up with pretty much an expensive tank top and running shorts. Anyway, We are going to Yuba for the 4th and I thought I'd better get started. For all you biggies out there, you know what kind of crap options for clothing we have. I swear there is just some jerk of a guy making all this mumu crap in obnoxious sizes and no shape thinking to himself, "Eh, if they are in this size in the first place, nothin is going to make them look good. Let's just drape this horrible shapeless mumu thing made of whatever fabric we can find, preferrably the ugliest possible, slap some pockets in it for the fatties to stuff their twinkies and ship it to Wal-Mart....." Just encouraging ugliness. Seriously, did you ever think, if some idiot didn't make this crap, there wouldn't be as many ugly people. Don't even give them an option for wearing this. Really. Click on the pic, enlarge it, look close. There is NO need for this kind of clothing.

Anyway, I went to Target, Khols, WalMart, Lane Bryant, JCPenney, Ross, even online and this sums up the choices I have:

The one piece black skirt with neon flowers

Here, they mix it up with the one piece non-skirt, neon flowers

And finally, the one piece black skirt, featuring full floral print! (notice how the model is holding the skirt out. She seems sad and listless, like she knows how stupid she looks. She's thinking to herself "Here it is, your options once you hit the bigtime....)
WHATEVER!!! This seriuosly just makes me want to give myself a pap smear with a cheese grater. Yes, dramatic, but this is more dramatic of a situation than some may think. We (the biggies) clearly already have a problem, why can't we make the best of it instead of making it worse? Ugh!!! After many hours online, I came up with this suit that I think I'll get. I am not the kind of gal that buys things w/o trying them on, but apparently I don't have much of a choice.

Now the search is on for board shorts........

RANDOMNESS

So just a few things that are on my mind:

First, Kate Gosselin brings up a good point about the pinata. For example, we plan a themed birthday party for our sweet 6 year old with, say, Dora the Explorer. Everything is going great, and then all of the sudden the mom hands one of the kids a bat and tells them to beat the shit out of Dora and eat her insides. Weird.

Next, I haven't had a satisfying yawn in about 1.5 years. Not sure why. It is really quite frustrating.

I am not ok with the Charmin TP commercials indicating that some people might 'leave behind' some 'particles' of TP when they poo. To make things worse, I asked around people at work and they thought it was fairly normal. WTH!???

Does anyone ever use the 'laser' setting on a bottle of Windex? Seriously, what would it be used for? A water gun, maybe. You could get a direct hit in the oponents eye or something, but Windex? Why?

The phrase 'beeline' doesn't make sense. To me, a 'beeline' would be all skawampus and squiggly, not straight like the phrase signifies. I think maybe like 'penciline' or 'rulerline' would be more appropriate.

Does anyone else seriously absolutely hate hate hate walking through movie rows? Especially when you are a biggie, it is really awkward. You always end up knocking something over or stepping on something. Side-scooting, in any situation, is not enjoyable.

So Benj took the plunge and got contacts about a month or so ago. I thouroghly and fully enjoy that he can now sympathize with the dust from 4-wheeling, the tired eyes at night, the glasses, etc. So he says to me last night, "I realized I can't wear my contacts while I play Xbox. I don't blink." Nerd. Next thing, he finds a box with bubble wrap in it and got seriously Christmas excited and sat and played with it for a good 3 minutes. He is such a little boy at heart!! Love him!

Also, I like the word "snarky".

Thanks for listening.

FUNNY NEWS CLIPS

That's just rude!

I'd have thought 20..... but who am I?

No...? Really?

Really??

Good Luck on that boys!!

We vote em in...!

Date Day

So last week was the week from hell. We had 3 girls off and 2 hit-and-miss-ers left, leaving me to do 3 jobs, plus mine, pick up some slack, and I am also on the implementation team for transitioning to EMR and was in training. To top that off, I forgot to take some 'key' meds for 4 days in a row. It sucked. Anyway, I decided to take Tuesday off and just chill. Benj and I went to 5-mile 4 wheeling, then looked at some houses, then went to a movie. It was awesome. We are really into CSI right now, and with 5-mile's reputation, I thought for sure we'd find a dead body (we didn't, thank goodness!). I seriously was really into this 'day-dream' that we'd find a body, CSI would come (does Utah even have any CSI??) and it'd be this big investigation and we'd be suspects, on and on. I almost drove off the trail once or twice about it. There was a thunder storm and we were muddy and sopping wet, but super fun (more fun for me, Benj was freezing!!). Benj got me to go off some big hills, we found a ATV flag with a big hand flipping the bird - great fun. On the way back to the truck, a dust storm kicked up and it was freaking crazy. We couldn't even see the truck, I couldn't see Benj in front of me! (of course, I had to be in back with the dust in my face.....) Here's some pictures:

I know we look nerdy, but those goggles freaking saved us!!

Can you see the truck in there? Kinda!??

Pet Peeves are updated....

Marie

So this is Marie, Benj's grandpas sister. She is aweseome! I wanted to get a shot of her 'fishing' but never got a chance. She likes to pretend to fish. Sometimes you will look over and she will be full on fishing or 'reeling one in'. One time we started throwing sweedish fish at her while she was 'fishing' and she thought she'd died and gone to heaven! After a few, she requested chocolate covered fishes.
So I have been left alone to watch Marie twice. I don't mind, she is the sweetest thing ever. Sometimes, she REALLY wants a soda, and that can get kind of nasty. but other than that, she's great. Anyway, the first time I was alone with her, she went straight into the back room. I figured she was just hanging out or whatever, she thinks that is totally her room, so I left her alone. After about 5 minutes, I heard her grunting a little and so I went in to check on her. I find her naked and halfway into a wet-suit she found in the closet. Need I say more?
Next experience: The family had to leave for an emergency, so we ended up together again. Again, she goes in the back room. I only let about 3 minutes lapse this time, but is was enough. She was naked and getting into some sort of mumu she found in the closet. She thought we were having a sleepover, apparently. I gently coerced her back into her clothes and left her to tie her shoes. She got up and went into the bathroom. Now, I know in the back of my mind she needs help wiping, but this never really crossed my mind when I agreed to stay and watch her. It actually never crossed my mind again until I heard her calling me after a few minutes in the bathroom. Oh hell. I took a deep breath and went in. Wow. Has anyone (besides my friends in the medical field) ever wiped a geriatric woman? I had to keep having her scoot up and over and up again. After a lot of TP and a little prayer, we got it done.
I love Marie! She always has a smile and calls you by name (it may not be your name, but still...). Today we saw her at our family party for mothers day. She thought for sure I was Vicki (Benj's aunt). I was sitting by her and she wanted to hold hands and kept kissing mine. Benj and his brother were play fighting and she started throwing punches herself and giggling. She laughed to herself at least half the time we were there. Meowing and barking randomly. Love her!

The Bathroom Spider

So I wake up to go pee last night (one of the 300 times a night) and vaguely spot a spider on the ceiling. In my disoriented state, I thought I better get it. After half-falling asleep on the toilet, I thought, eh, I'm too tired. Then these thoughts start running through my head: What if it is a mommy spider and she is on her way to the nest to give birth to the spring batch of 1000 million baby spiders and then they will be all over my house and in my face and up my nose and in my cupboards, etc. I let this thought go a little too far, obviously. (Keep in mind I am really out of it). So I grab some TP and perch on the counter to get it and come down with what, AM EMPTY TISSUE. Where the hell did it go??! I looked around in a blur (I can't see with no contacts), looking down my shirt, on the floor, rug, counter, etc. By now I am wide awake. I never did find the stupid thing. I couldn't fall back asleep after that, frantically shuffling my hair around every few minutes, thinking maybe it was in there. I ended up taking a 4th of an ambien at 2 a.m. and going into work late. Damn Spider.

A few tidbits

Well, I just keep thinking of random things that I want to say, so here are a few of them:

I sure hope that by the time I have to have a mammogram that someone somewhere has come up with a better method of testing, other than slamming your girls into a large metal clamp and squeeze. Seriously, we have freaking computers that will do your taxes, write your thesis, call your mom, and order you a mail order bride in Hong Kong all at once. We have MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Laparoscopic everything, and we are still being reduced to the clamp and sweeze method. Someone, somewhere has to be close, right?

I got in my truck this morning and the steering wheel felt sticky-ish and dirty. Some sort of mystery substance on it. Who knows what Benj was working on. I hate that.

My mom and dad are out of town, so I am taking care of thier animals, Olivia (my dog), Sister and Heart-beat-less (cats). I went to visit them tonight and thought I'd share some pictures and insights. Olivia is so loving and sweet. She licks and licks and rubs and is just all over you. I border-line feel dirty and violated after visiting her. The second pic is me trying to get one while she is 'on' me. She's just too shuffly!!

Then the cats. Sister we have had for, oh, about 5-10 years (who's counting?). She is pretty much a big brat (as you can tell by her body language). She was an ok cat until Olivia came around. Olivia thinks it is a big funny game to keep Sister off the ground. Anytime she comes down from the windowseal or whatever, Olivia chases and screws around with her until she jumps back up again. Hell, now that I think of it like that, I'd be pissed off all the time too. Anyway, she just sulked around and growled for dinner the whole time I was there.

Then, there is Heart-Beat-Less. My genius neice Macie named her. I am not being a smart ass, I seriously think it is an awesome name for a cat. I called it the Handi-snack before it had a name because she is cross-eyed and kind of slow. She is sweet though. She kept putting her little paws up on my back and licking my arm. I love cat licks, like soft little patches of sandpaper.

FHE

So for FHE this week, we went bowling. I was pretty excited. I have been playing bowling on the Wii and was pretty darn good. I had confidence. I had poise. Even my purse looked like a bowling bag. My head was in the game. Turns out I suck. I think it has something to do with actually throwing a 8-12 pound ball, not just pretending. That is just too physical for me.

We had a great time though! Grandma Tammy won by a mile. She has good form.

Here are some pics:

All the 'action' pics are sideways and I don't want to figure out how to turn them to post them, so this is all folks!

Sunday, April 5, 2009

Well, to sum up the last few weeks.....

I am super grateful for tampons,
Benj and I suck with money,
and I think handicapped people are freaking awesome.

The first two are self explanatory. The last, however, I will explain at a later date (I am waiting for pictures to accompany the story).

So to hold you over...

One of our favorite things to do is hang out with Owen and Anna (like I've said before..). Here are a few pics from our latest 'hang out'.

Isn't she adorable!? I just want to eat her up!

Two of my favorite people!

MMMMmmmmm!

More please!!!!!

Hehe....our poor kids!

Benj was totally cracking himself up!

I walked in from the other room and find this....
